Shipping your cameraIf you plan on shipping your camera to us for an evaluation please ensure that it has been packaged well and that your package arrives with the shipping and related costs paid in full. If it arrives postage due, or custom/brokerage fees due on receipt it may be declined (and depending on your shippign choices it would be returned to you by your courier with the return shipping charges due to you on receipt), or these shipping charges will be added to the return shipping costs.
The best way that I have found for International shipment is to use the post office insured and trackable. If you use the post office any charges will be added to the parcel and collected from the receiver (if there are charges, this way there are no suprises).
If you decide to use a courier, please ask the shipping agent to make certain that any extra paperwork required is filled out at the time you ship the item. Couriers have a different way of collecting Duty and taxes. It's been my experience that the shipping agent does not always provide the required documents, either by neglect or lack of experience, if this happens and Canada Customs applies taxes, duty or other charges the courier will just send a bill to the receiver (me) for the goods as if they we an international purchase at a later date (up to a month after the camera has been received). Then I have to pay the duty/tax (and charge it to you. After you have received the camera back from repair, you will go back to the shipping agent you used and fill out paperwork explaining the error, after this paperwork has been sent to and inspected by Canada Customs and your courier, and if they deem it as acceptable they will send me a refund for the taxes, and I will send it to you.
